Professional Background :

I began my career as a staff physical therapist with Battle Creek Health Systems in my hometown of Battle Creek, Michigan. During my time with BCHS, I gained valuable clinical experience treating patients in acute care and outpatient settings. I worked as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team focused on the treatment of adults with neurological impairments. In my orthopedic work, I worked alongside several skilled manual therapists who taught me how physical therapy, when done correctly, can significantly improve an individuals quality of life.

My next stay was in Grand Rapids, Michigan where I worked for 11 years. I started my first position as a clinic manager of a small outpatient clinic there. We saw tremendous growth in our clinic during my time there. I attribute this growth to our philosophy that we should meet the needs of the patient first and provide quality personalized care. I then moved to a position as Sports Programming Director where my days were filled with treating athletes of all ages at our Sports Medicine clinic, developing sport specific rehab and performance programs, and developing relationships with sports clubs in the area. I also found time to work as an adjunct professor teaching Clinical Rehabilitation to Athletic Training students at my Alma Mater Grand Valley State University. Life was very busy.

My family and I then made a tremendous leap of faith by moving to Wilmington, NC in 2008 where I joined the staff at Carolina Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy. We have been blessed to call Wilmington home and I have been blessed professionally to work with Jai, Steve and Sue since 2008 then as Carolina Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy and now as Shoreline Physical Therapy. My philosophy has stayed the same when working with patients. I will commit 100% of my knowledge and experience to help improve your health and quality of life. I will also treat each individual with caring respect. I want to give my patients the tools they need to successfully improve and maintain a healthy quality of life.

Personal Background :

I grew up in Michigan and have been a lifelong Detroit sports fan (as painful as that can be at times). I grew up playing all sports and particularly basketball and baseball through high school. Through my time playing sports, I developed an interest in Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine. I have been blessed to make it my career.

I am happily married to my wife Kim and together we have 2 adult children.

I enjoy spending as much time with my family as possible these days. My hobbies include fitness (you can find me in the gym about 6 days per week), golf (when my schedule allows), watching sporting events, reading, and beach time.
